Alask-O part deux

WARM beach!

Yet Another pretty sunset. Yet another beautiful day.

 Yes, that is Santa playing the violin on the street in April. He was quite haunting actually. Made me giggle too.

 We just needed to play someplace not so F^%*^ COLD!!!

 That's a guy's residence.  All he owns right there.

No clouds like this in AK.

 We happened to get to see a public hula show. It also happened that some famous Japanese hula dancer was there. I was interviewed and I believe I ended up on Tokyo news,

FRESH udon!  I ordered way too much food, with tip, and beverage - $16.

Alask-O

Abby and I invented a new place - Alaska-O - where it's always warm weather, light breezes, plenty of sunny daylight and blue skies, with the occasional majestic clouds, perfectly sandy beaches, calm surf, an abundance of fragrant flowers and a variety of trees, cheap yummy local produced healthy eats, safe communally-oriented comfortable places to live with nearby parks, community/family-based businesses, energy/non-consumerist sustainable neighborhoods, with good schools and jobs, and oh, you really don't have to work that much so you can spend time with your family......ok, so it doesn't quite exist!   Keep checking these coming weeks for posts abo. Alask-O!

 Oh glorious sunset

 Beach walk

I did not know that in this version of Alaska-O that there would be construction, at the beach to which I planned on going!!! I gasped when I found out. The plan on moseying one block back and forth to the beach was dashed, but there is plenty of other beaches. Although I had to walk quite a distance or take a bus, we went to some nice spots!

Because of the above construction, we also did some other things. Abby makes friends easily.  She'll find a friend and play away for a few hours. The lil' girl with Abby above, as I found out when I talked to her mom, has leukemia.  Her mom thanked Abz and I so much for playing with her daughter. She says she normally does not take her to public places, but they were having a special fun day.  Wow. Left me speechless.

When I first saw this hotel, I thought it was faux historic. I was actually annoyed, but then found out it really is the oldest hotel! Corinthian column looking down to shaded patio.

Goal for our visit to Alask-O - relax and have fun!!!

Abby's swim lessons have concluded. I can't believe what progress she made! She almost jumped off the diving board! She went from stiff as a board to kicking and moving her arms. She is much more comfortable in the water. Having to juggle my schedule around for two week s was definitely worth it!!! Oh, it just gives me warm fuzzy feelings. My sweet boo.

V is for.... Evey.
Abby's middle name is from the graphic novel/movie V for Vendetta. This may seem strange to you, but to me makes quite logical sense. Miss Hammond had quite the life, to ultimately become truly free - free from her own fears (and from the oppressive government ta boot). Abby will have many trials and tribulations, but mind over matter my dear, and you too can be free. Freedom is priceless, for I am not free. My debt hangs over me like a noose. Feeling powerless, feeling enslaved, is no way to be.

So, dear girl, I can't tell you to be happy, but here are some things that might help:
don't worry, be happy;
be with people who love you and who you love (trusting people is hard, when you trust the wrong people, it can be bad);
choose your career wisely - find something you love and do it! (hopefully it pays well);
do not go into debt;
remember how much we love you;
and I should have something more profound to say, but I don't right now (brain tired!).
XOXO

Pretty girl

This is something for a bad guy or to make a bad guy go away - I can't recall what ABbysaid, but creative just the same.

Worked on the Thelma C a lil bit. Mostly, I slept the entire Saturday away! Apparently that is what I needed to recover from the recent illness. Slept, Thelma C, slept, dinner with tomcat, and slept some more!

Abby is taking swim lessons for two weeks. She thought she looked so funny with her cap on!

Easter weekend was good for Abby. She got to go on an Easter egg hunt, color eggs, and she got some presents from the Easter Bunny and grandmum (I think she wanted another one, maybe the bunny will have to hide something so well she'll find it later). At church the kids did their bell performance. Abby is a good bell ringer. Basically, Major Cathy holds up cards with colors on then, and the kids ring the bell if their color is on the card. Abby is so good, she recognizes when she makes a mistake.

No family here, so no plans for Easter. I was sick/tired/busy all week so I never got to the store. When I went on Sunday, there were no hams or anything like that left. I ended up inviting Lou and Hart over, which was nice. Lou will be staying with us again this week.

Abz the artist

Abz the photographer

Self-portrait - I like this one!!!

She takes pictures of her house. It is hers! Pretty much the whole thing.

She wants to add the flower necklace to every image.

On a walk in the harbor last week.

She really wanted me to take a pic of her with a duck bill.

Lou the dog.

Abby has been coming up to me with her stuffed animals asking "Can I call her mopikatutu?" Or "Can I call her Nose?" Or "Can I call her towapikulama?" Names that just don't make sense! I tell her sure, but she can't remember, nor can I, the silly names she comes up with.
