presentation
I gave a presentation about Kodiak's World War 2 sites. Abby told a story about how she can relate to the harsh conditions soldiers had to face. She rehearsed her story a few times in the days preceding. SHe spoke loudly and clearly. I'm very proud of her.

Marnie's Road
It's my favorite thus far, so I named it after me. Not much on it, the dam being the most remarkable.
It's a short section, a few hundred feet
Just big enough for a bear, but the bear by-passes it going perpendicular to it.
Did you know pull-tabs were invented in Dayton?
I was going to give the GPS coordinates, but there's no signal and my camera just didn't record it. after a revisit I think I might Claim more than the short section aS I continued on and it seems to stay pretty cool. directions are take the cantonment 2 Road across from the artillery road, take a right at the fork, take a left at the next fork and an immediate left.

Pacific
Loads of incendiary bombs which would end up killing about a hundred of thousand of Toyko residents. Japan did not surrender. Hence Little Boy and Fat Man. Understanding the brutality of war creates a deep passion for peace, on my part, and confusion about continued violence on Earth.
National Museum of the National Air Force btw. I was surprised to see that DDN had an article. I thought it was kind of a not-so-well publicized battle.
If you don't know what Bocksar is then you need to do a little reading
Fat Man
Possum creek and Huffman dam
Cable car, used as a food truck, aka concessions
The pool, aka dammed up creek. You can see a wall, stairs, and lifeguard tower remnants.
The navigation app tried to take me directly to the dam, literally.

One of the converging tributaries that flows into the Great Miami River, which meets the Ohio, which goes to the Mississippi

Dayton inspired carousel
What do you need to know about Dayton? The Wright Bros. Forget Kittyhawk, know Huffman Prairie. In Dayton they not only designed an built everything (often utilizing bicycle parts since they knew bicycles), but it's where, after crashing the third flyer, they made a sustained flight for almost 40 minutes. Their design included controls for roll (wing warping), pitch and yaw.
I could totally live in a caboose as long as there was space to do yoga, a pottery workshop and greenhouse out back.
my broken rule - ribs! Ohio style, dribbled in tangy BBQ sauce with a side salad with sweet and sour garlic dressing, little mini bagels, and a baked potato for good measure.
Little strip of Third Street
My parents new house is lovely
even has room for Plasticville
Dinners and parties
