Weekend report

Abby loves to pick flowers! Her nose is often yellow from smelling the dandy-lions.

All the fishermen are getting to head out! Git already!

Abby, the painter! She loves to draw and paint, and I must say she seems rather remarkable for 3.5 years old.

In contrast to the above photos, the weekend was Kodiak rainy! Where you walk outside and are instantaneously wet because the tiny droplets are hovering and swirling in the air. So, we did indoor activities this weekend.
A painting of daddy. it looks like him.

And of course the touch tank!

Hi granddad!!!

A lot of sea creature action!

Swimming

Been swimming in kakanaq discs this week at work! I'm enjoying the Karluk One Carlia'arluku project, but my eyes are starting to get crossed!

In other news, holy smidgens, what hasn't happened?! I haven't posted anything here, but I believe tis about time. Shawen and I officially "broke-up" in February. He has been picking on me ever since to put it mildly. I am now, dating, well, um, kicking it with a fisherman - tall, blond, Captain Hottie. There is at least 10 entries that need to be written about all of this, but you know, people apparently like their privacy. Funny, cause everybody knows everything here already! I can definitely tell you I learned the hard way what a small town it is, and I am treading water in which I am unfamiliar. Both of which make me uneasy at times, but my insecurities are not outweighing the fun I am having! I can for once appreciate what I have when I have it, and not worry SO much about what I don't have.

In other major news, Shawen has a broken back, yes, a broken vertebra, and is having major surgery today. And Hottie leaves for fishing soon. So, as much as life has been tossed around, it will seemingly go back to just Abby and I again! I am looking forward to playground and beach time, as well as getting back to pottery and swimming. Abby is who is important! She is the ruler of this land o'mine.

Crab Fest!

No rain, which meant no crab and no dough buoy the first night!
They sold out. Crab booth was closing just as I got there.

Abby rode a big kids' ride!!!

Sorry, no pretty picture of what these delicious king crab legs looked like BEFORE....

funhouse

The Lions Club sponsors a saw dust pile, in which there is change "buried". For the little kids they kind of toss and point - here, dig here.

It's getting green finally!

USCGC Bertholf was offering tours! It is a new, big, fancy, expensive cutter.

The boat from which they board other vessels.

This is where they shackle detainees. I warned Abby. She can grow up to do the shackling or be shackled! Abby would make a good Coastie or drug runner. She's cunning.

Since the rides had to leave early due to the ferry schedule, on Monday they had old fashioned games. Really, it was more fun than the regular carnival stuff.

watching the St. Innocent's girls sing

Abby loves to dance! She jumped right in and joined the St. Innocent's Academy dancers!
