pottery

I did not get as much pottery done as I would have liked. Abigail made quite a lot. we missed the big Bazaar because I was not ready. and then the bazaar I did I was stuck in the corner and pretty much sold nothing.

one of the vendors Bought all of abby's small pieces and made them into hair pieces.

catssssss

Happy  Kitten with ball, yarn, and mouse toy

 Kitten and cat

 How to draw a cat

 Real cat, sleeping

And pokemon cats. Basil was a grass type because she liked to go outside.  Wink is fighting type. He once in awhile gets a look in his eye, switches his tail and bites! He, like basil, also likes to play with string.

" Oh grandad already knows all about this."
This shows them buying tickets.

In the foreground they are watching a screen. A cat  falls from a tree.

This is "published".

For being such lackluster images, this sure was a dramatic outing. I have to go back to take images of the road. Not really much of a road as an moss covered alder alley complete with dam.  By far the most scenic road I have been on to date. It was late and dark, with the sounds of rain drops hitting mud-soaked puddles, bears scurrying in the distance.

With Tim with me I definitely covered more ground and did things I would not have otherwise. Like the very steep hillside. "Grab my hand," he insisted. "Are you crazy? You cannot lift me five feet!" His voice wavered, "You don't trust me." "I am scared," I said trying to pacify him. I am too fat for him to lift me that high.

I made it up the ledge and we avoided the bears, after of course getting a little turned around in the dark. He knew where he was, I didn't, then I did and he didn't. We would have made it back eventually. It's only a few square mile area.

I did not find what I was looking for. The first time I was closer, but I saw things I have never seen before this time. No pictures though. It was too dark in the woods, even with a headlamp.

hey boo boo

I have a good time exploring WWII sites. Abigail is even into it.

Walks are often scenic

There's cool old stuff
You of course know this is a ceramic insulator. Pretty big and complete one.

This is a standard late period elephant magazine, with an I-beam hoist.

Then there are some unexpected finds. Next to a standard bivouac and some other bulldozed areas that were once structures, there is this long (50 feet) tunnel, crawl space only, that led to a small structure (former structure). I have never seen anything quite like this.

Tim found this site. I would have expected these kind of wood and chicken wire structures in Buskin hill, but nay, this is by the ComSta.

Period tire? Tim says so cause it has a blah blah blah. The rest of the jeep or whatnot is there too. Of course there are like a gagillion trucks and such from the 1970s. I am not a tire expert. I took some other photos maybe I will do some tire research. Oy.

and a jeep tire. little different.

All in all, I've seen some neat-o structures

and I appreciate the little things - stacks of cut trees, concrete foundations, shards of glass and nails. That stack of wood have been there for 70 years! The last person to touch it was the person who put it there.

In the past two weeks I have been hunting for the I still think the unfound, in places that are even off the beaten path for me. This venting was a clue, I thought, and I really thought I had maybe found it, but I think perhaps not.

It's hard to concentrate though. The "road" I was on was not a road anymore, but a stream, a patch of alder and salmonberrys, oh, and a bear trail, next to the other bear trail, conversing that bear trail right over there, and that's it, bear trails. This is my face when walking down bear trails! I don't do this by choice. I bushwack or go the roundabout to avoid the highways and main thoroughfares, but sometimes you have to take the side streets and country roads there are so many in this area. I didn't even know I took this photo. Must have done the flip invert thing on my phone.

This is me when I am on the main road, headed back to the car!

This is a sad photo for me. This was taken pretty much the moment Basil died.

more

two eyes

I love this self-portrait.

Out of order

The tree blew over revealing corrugated roof of a Quonset hut or other structure. I am not familiar with this part and the cleaning seemed long for a hut.

I thought I might be close with the ducting, but there is a chest freezer and car nearby. It looks period though.

I thought it might be the ducting to a facility that may have already been located. I may have been standing on top of it, but I was afraid to walk over the roof as I know there are vents. I could not find the road and that's how I find sites.

There is a road I could have taken as a second try, but I could not bring myself to stay in the area. I see bear signs all the time. I know they are close and I normally shrug it off and push on, being aware and loud. I just got spooked this time. This is a small bear and they are generally more curios than older ones. Although, I keep telling myself I have never seen any!

All kind of prints around. Ermine, fox, rabbit, deer, birds.
